Next you would want to learn passives outside your base/sub-job. You may also want to consider choosing sub-job so that the character has many types of weapon equipped for breaking. warrior Olberic subjob thief, thief Therion subjob warrior. Avoid making 2 characters with the same purpose. Ideally you want all the 8 subjob before giving all 8 characters a role. If you had spent job points on base class, you would have known which passive skill will be unlocked. If you aren't sure which subjob has good synergy, save before spending job points. Even something like cleric+scholar is viable as long you have curatives for MP. In my playthru up until all Ch4 completed, I used Therion as a tank, stacked up all equipment that offered best +EVD, used him to cover and aggro which most attacks will miss, other stuff he does is poison and steal BP to share with others. The sub-job shrines are all near the chapter 2 towns, get all 8 of them if you haven't. Look at the base job, strong stat when unequipped, choose the sub job that has most synergy.
